The Weathered Sanctuary
Across the high, wind-swept ridges of the Ethiopian plateau, the elements wage a constant war. Trees here do not grow tall; instead, they twist, bend, and anchor themselves deep into the rocky soil. Under the sheltering boughs of an ancient, gnarled tree, a magnificent traveler seeks a moment of respite.
A spectacular male Greater Kudu stands proud against a gathering storm. His massive, spiral horns curve gracefully toward the darkening sky, mimicking the chaotic lines of the branches above him. Faint white stripes drape his flanks, catching the last remaining rays of a fractured sun.
As the heavy clouds roll in, bringing the promise of a freezing mountain rain, he holds his ground. He watches, listens, and waits. In this rugged highland wilderness, survival belongs to those who can weather the storm.
