Winged Monarch of Stone
The desert wind whispered through the sun-bleached prairie grasses as I stood before the looming shadow of the ancient peak. Heavy, bruised storm clouds pressed down from above, split only by a singular, golden burst of late afternoon sun that sets the jagged, vertical spires ablaze. It feels less like a landscape and more like an active monument—the sacred monadnock commanding the silent plains while the weather churns violently around its crown. This frame captures a rare, fleeting moment of stillness just before the high-desert elements reclaim the horizon.
