Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park, Galloway, Franklin County, Ohio, USA

A quiet chill settles over the open wetland meadow, where tiers of tall, sun-bleached grasses sway gently in the autumn breeze. Standing along the field's edge, the sweet, earthy scent of curing prairie brush fills the senses, framing a breathtaking wall of old-growth forest dressed in its peak October finery. Fiery orange maples, deep russet oaks, and brilliant golden canopies stack against each other like brushstrokes on a canvas, contrasted sharply against a heavy, slate-gray sky. It is a fleeting moment of pure, rustic solitude, where the vibrant warmth of the changing leaves seems to push back against the cold, overcast morning.
